Ketchikan Pioneer, Jack Seabolt, founded Legacy's parent company Northway Realty in early 1970. Bud Elliot another Alaskan pioneer, and his wife Rose, purchased Northway Realty in 1971 and incorporated. Bud operated the successful local real estate firm on Dock Street, downtown for 16 years.
In 1978 Bill Elberson joined Northway Realty, Inc. and ultimately purchased the company in 1987. Guy Mickel became part of the Northway Realty organization in 1987, with 10 years previous experience in both residential and commercial construction.
As partner owners, Bill and Guy built a new office at 2506 First Avenue in 1993. In 1995, Northway Realty Inc. was selected to join the Re/Max franchise network. Northway Realty, doing business as Re/Max operated at this location for 24 years.
Guy Mickel became the Re/Max principal broker in 1997.
Dinah Pearson joined Re/Max in 2000 and became an associate broker in 2015. In 2019 she became the owner and principal broker of Northway Realty Inc. and changed the name of the firm to Legacy Real Estate.
Joy Yalung joined the Re/Max team in 2015. Joy is a licensed real estate agent as well as Legacy Real Estate Firm's office manager.
In 2020, James North joined the Legacy crew. James brings with him a lifetime of Ketchikan experience as well as a love of SE Alaska.
In 2022, Regina Waldron joined our team as Legacy's office manager.
In May 2022, Kristina Hulse was welcomed as Legacy's newest agent! She is a lifelong Ketchikan resident and is excited to begin her career as a full time Realtor!
